250mm Long
At 250mm long, the Ground Dog screw in pegs are just the right length to suit all types of ground, and means you don’t need different length pegs for different applications. Less to carry and less weight!

High-Grade Stainless Steel
The Ground Dog screw in pegs are made from a high-quality marine grade stainless steel material ensuring they will not rust after a few uses in the ground. They are very strong and are easy to get in and out.

Thread
Ground Dog screw in pegs are tapered and have a special shape thread cut into the shaft, the fluting is wider and longer so they drill in and hold firmly in a wide range of soils. They will hold fast and not pull out during strong and constant winds.

Hex Head
Ground Dog screw in pegs have a 19mm hex head

Top Thread
The thread stops 20mm short of the top of the Ground Dog screw in peg, so that you are able to easily swivel the collar around the peg to get it in the correct position to hook on the High Viz Tie Down Strap.

Adjustable Locking Nut
The Ground Dog screw in peg can accommodate two different collars. The collars are an adjustable locking nut that can be varied to suit the depth of the ground. This means if you can only get half the peg into the ground, simply winding down the locking nut will make it just as effective, and means you don’t have to have the peg all the way in.

The Hook Collar is used with a Ground Dog screw in peg, when using the high viz straps and safety spring.

19mm Socket and Drill Adaptor
The Ground Dog screw in pegs have a 19mm hex head, which makes screwing in the pegs easy and fast! The 19mm head fits both the Ground Dog screw in pegs, and the stabilizer legs – this means you only need to carry one size drill socket!
A little tip on how to add a collar onto your Ground Dog screw in peg – quick & easy!!
You can use your drill to add a collar to your Ground Dog screw in peg.
Go slowly, and be careful to hold the collar and not get your fingers caught when drilling!!
Don’t have a drill?
If you don’t have a drill, you can use a hand crank.

We highly recommend that you use a drill driver on the
Ground Dog screw in pegs, and not an impact driver.

Ground Dog -vs- Coach Bolt & Coach Screw
It is difficult to place the Coach Bolt, Coach Screw, and the Ground Puppy Screw-in pegs in the same category, as there are some substantial differences. Take a moment to review these.
The Ground Dog screw in pegs:
- Have been designed to suit ground engagement
- Are made of stainless steel, which makes it light weight and corrosion resistance, so it won’t rust
- Are designed with a tapered shaft with a self-drilling tip for better penetration
- Have an aggressive thread
- The pitch thread is further apart, which means:
- It has less revolutions when screwing in and out (making it quick and easy to insert or remove)
- It is well suited to soil/ground as it allows more soil/gravel/small rocks to sit between the threads, giving it a stronger hold
- The head is 19mm and is the same size used for caravan stabilizer legs, which means you only need to carry one drill socket to do two jobs
- Accommodates a hook or wing collar, that are adjustable locking nuts
- The coach bolt and coach screws have been designed for timber
- Coach bolts & coach screws are made of steel and offer different finishes or coatings, including stainless steel, Bright Zinc Plated, and Passivated Hot Dipped Galvanised, to name a few
- Coach bolt needs a pilot hole drilled first
- Coach screws have a tapered shaft
- The pitch thread is closer together, which means:
- It takes longer to screw in as it must go through more revolutions when screwing in and out (this will be time consuming if doing by hand)
- Ideally suited to timber, not soil
- Has a weak hold in soil
- The head may vary in size which means you may need to carry another socket & drill adaptor
- Does not come with a cap for protection
Ground Dogs -vs- Tent Pegs
The traditional hammer-in tent pegs have been around forever and will work in quite a lot of cases, but let’s face it, it can be hard work to hammer them in, and in some cases even harder to get them back out. You also need a different size peg for different applications, meaning you need to carry around a whole lot more pegs. Many of us end up with a collection of bent pieces of steel. If the ground is extremely hard, you will be hard pressed to even get them in at all. Watch the video below to see Paul & Judd in the Tent Peg Challenge. Filmed at a recent Caravan show, the boys show how hard it is to hammer in a traditional tent peg in comparison to the Ground Dog screw in tent peg.
